Am I comparing the same destination and party?
When comparing an app option with a booked transfer to Grand Baie, enter the same hotel or villa address and consider the same passenger and luggage requirements. A town-centre marker is not a substitute for the property entrance. If a quoted vehicle does not fit all the bags or requested child restraints, it is not a like-for-like alternative, regardless of the amount displayed or the apparent passenger capacity.
What should I check in the app?
Uber's Mauritius terms identify a local service partnership with Logidis. For your journey, review what the app actually offers and the instructions attached to that option. Do not infer island-wide availability or a particular vehicle from the presence of a Mauritius webpage. Keep a working phone connection and enough battery to follow the assigned pickup instructions, and check the payment and cancellation terms before requesting the ride.
Which details can advance booking confirm?
For a pre-arranged transfer, ask for a written price, the agreed vehicle capacity, meeting location and handling of flight changes. Confirm any important equipment rather than assuming it is included. Advance planning can be useful for a family or a large luggage load, but only the accepted booking establishes the arrangement. A general claim about service convenience is not a substitute for the details of your own confirmation.
Which option fits my arrival requirements?
If you are flexible and travelling light, checking app options may fit your approach. If several requirements need coordination before landing, an arranged transfer may be easier to plan. Compare the final totals and terms without assuming either option is always cheaper or always available. Palmway can quote the airport journey and a later hotel-to-hotel transfer separately. Keep the return airport pickup plan distinct, especially if you leave from a different property.
